Usain Bolt's Career

Usain Bolt became a professional athlete in 2004 with his coach Fitz Coleman. He started with the CARIFTA Games in Bermuda, where he was the first junior sprinter to run the 200m in less than 20 seconds and broke the world junior record of Roy Martin.





Usain Bolt is now an Olympic champion and holds the Olympic and world records for the 100 meters at 9.58 seconds, the 200 meters at 19.30 seconds.

Usain Bolt now runs for the Jamaica Internation team for 100 200 and 400 meters. He recently signed a contract worth about the same as a famous professional football star, a world record contract. Usain Bolt signed the biggest sports contract in history worth 33.5 million dollars.

Bolt was born on 21 of August, 1986 in a small town in Trelawny, Jamaica. He grew up with his parents, Wellesley and Jennifer Bolt, his borhter Sadeeko and his sister Sherine. His parents worked at a local grocery store. He spent his time playing sports with his borther. Usain Bolt used to like football before running. His football coach saw how fast he runs and told him to join track instead.



As a chilld, Usain Bolt attented Waldensia Primary school. That was whe he started to discover the latent sprinting powers inside him. At the age of 12 he bacame the best sprinter in his school.
